Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Gabbit Moon

The Gabbit Moon (left) next to the Mudokon Moon (right)

The Gabbit Moon is the second moon to circle around Oddworld. The lunar phenomenon first appeared over Mudos numerous centuries ago. Like the Mudokon Moon, this moon features a print of one of the native species of Mudos. The moon features the footprint of a Gabbit, making them seem like the supreme race of the sea.

History[]

After appearing over Mudos many centuries ago when the Gabbits were at their prime, the moon was deemed a message sent from the Gods, making the Gabbits another chosen race as well as the Mudokons. The Vykkers and Glukkons were furious about the moon since they didn't have their own. When the Vykkers constructed their labs, they positioned them in front of the moon so it couldn't be seen by the inhabitants of Mudos. The moon was quickly forgotten along with the Gabbits, which were now nearly extinct.

Reappearance[]

At the conclusion of Munch's Oddysee (Good Ending), when Vykkers Labs is destroyed, the second moon was revealed to the inhabitants of Oddworld again. This is said to mark the regrowth of the Gabbit population.
