Oddworld Wiki

Hi! Welcome to the Oddworld Fandom Wiki!

Recently OWI has began to publish posts on their Twitter citing articles from this site, along with content that heavily implies that the wiki is in some way official or sanctioned.

We'd like to dispel this rumor now: The Fandom Wiki is 100% community run and has in fact been long plagued by information of dubious validity, despite the valiant efforts of its editors (whose job we really appreciate, keep up the good fight!). For this reason, we'd like to ask our readers to take everything here with a great chunk of salt, especially when it comes to content without valid citations.

If you wish to fight against misinformation, you're encouraged to contribute high-quality content to the wiki—that is content that's propped up by a trusted source (examples include: Oddworld.com, Magog on the March, or The Oddworld Library) and contain no headcanons, theorizing, or any further content not directly coming from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Thank you for your attention and understanding! Happy reading and editing!

Special mudokon icon with Healing Ring power as seen in SoulStorm Brewery

The Healing Ring is an ability that can be used by those who have gained the chest tattoo from Necrum. Once a monk has bestowed the power upon Abe, he can chant to unleash a yellow ring that cures Mudokons that it comes into contact with. It can heal the hangover given by Soulstorm brew or from tear extraction.

Background Story - Abe's Exoddus[]

Abe needed to cure his five friends (including Alf) of Soulstorm addiction so that he could access the well to the FeeCo Depot. On his quest to find help, he managed to overload the boilers of Necrum Mines, essentially shutting the operation down. After being blown out of Necrum Mines, he found himself in the Necrum Elder Burial Grounds, where the Three Weirdos offered Abe tests in exchange for help. After completing the Mudomo and Mudanchee vaults, the Three Weirdos bestowed upon Abe the Necrum chest tattoo, and informed him of three essential facts.

  1. SoulStorm Brew is made from mudokon bones made by Bonewerkz and processed in SoulStorm Brewery.
  2. SoulStorm Brewery is the main industrial location involved in mudokon bone procesing.
  3. SoulStorm Brewery must be destroyed.

Sick mudokons from SoulStorm Brew machine - Necrum Mines

Abe left the Necrum Jungle to cure his friends of Soulstorm addiction, and made his way through FeeCo Depot, the Slig Barracks and the Bonewerkz to reach Soulstorm Brewery.

Within SoulStorm Brewery, there are several sick mudokons, probably sick from Brew or from Tear Extraction machine. In this case, Abe has to choose between saving them by talking to a special mudokon who has the Healing Ring ability or being continually tortured by industrialists.

In-game information regarding the Healing Ring[]

  1. Your mudokon friends are sick from brew. You must complete the quests of the mudokon spirits to heal them. Return here after you've completed the Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults - Tunnel 2, Necrum Mines.
  2. Remember Abe - Us restless mudokon spirits yearn for freedom and peace for our bones. Your first quest will be complete when the spirits of your ancestors are released from bondage. Then, we'll help you heal your friends. - Necrum Burial Ground, Necrum Jungle.
